Rev Dr John and Janice Reid
Janice was born in Parkes in central west NSW and John is from Temora in the South Western of NSW. Both are graduates of Morling College and met after Janice graduated from Morling and was a deaconess at Castle Hill Baptist Church. John spoke at a youth tea and they met and were engaged within months when John was student pastor at the church at Tahmoor in the southern highlands of NSW.
Janice and John have four sons, Andrew, Garth, Nathan and Marcus and 13 grandchildren. John mentors pastors, preaches, appreciates classical music and gardening. Janice is a piano teacher and still has 15 students each week.
Rev Louise Pollock
Since graduating from Morling College Louise has ministered as part of the pastoral team at Epping Baptist and Thornleigh Community Baptist. She has also served as the denominational chaplain at Concord Hospital and community counselling and education.
Louise has a longing for each of us to understand who we are in Christ, and to accept God’s invitation to follow His Word and receive His gift of salvation and forgiveness.
For fun Louise loves working with wood, (is an active member of the local Men’s Shed), watching movies and aspires to become a gourmet chef!
Rev Richard Tavender
Richard Tavender is an Ordained Baptist Minister who has served in several ministries since 1987. These include:
- 11 years in Associate Pastoral roles in Toongabbie, Chatswood, Bowral, Mayfield and Pennant Hills
- 15 years in full-time School ministry involving Christian Education and Pastoral Care.
- 5 years in Pastoral Care / Chaplaincy ministry with Hammond Care focusing on Palliative Care and Dementia Care.
Richard has formal qualifications in Theology, Ministry, Pastoral Care, Counselling and Training. He is married with two adult children.
Richard is committed to serving Christ in His world. This means that he is comfortable ministering to people of all backgrounds within and beyond the services of the Church. His motivation for faith and ministry comes from an appreciation of the love and Grace of God. This motivation is identified in the writings of the Apostle Paul…

Rev Phil Hanbury
Phil grew up in the local area, attending Baulkham Hills Baptist Church with his family. He accepted Jesus as his Lord and Saviour one Sunday morning at church just prior to commencing High School.
Phil met his wife Sue at WEC High School camps and they have a son, Joshua. Phil commenced Bible College whilst studying to become an Engineering and Industrial Technology teacher.
Phil is an accredited Baptist Pastor and has served at Carlingford, Northwest and Southwestern Community Baptist Churches. He has taught technology at a number of local schools and currently serves on the Board of Norwest Christian College, as a company director.
Whilst teaching at Norwest Christian College in 2003, Phil joined Schofields Bush Fire Brigade, where he continues to be an active volunteer Fire-fighter. He has recently been appointed by the commissioner to the position of RFS Chaplain for the Cumberland Zone.
Phil enjoys running to relax and unwind and can be found with the Hills District Joggers most Saturday mornings.
